In Citadels, you are a medieval ruler trying to complete your city before your opponents can build theirs. Expand your city by adding new districts, but be sure to invest wisely: Some districts are more valuable than others, but cost more gold to build. There is more to building a city than gold, however. Lords, ladies, and other nobility all have their role to play. The game changes each turn as each player secretly chooses a new role – Assassin, Thief, Magician, King, Bishop, Merchant, Architect, or Warlord – and the power that comes with it. This edition of Citadels includes the Dark City Expansion. This exciting addition to the game features 14 new purple district cards and a premium wooden “King” marker. Nominated for the German Game of the Year in 2000, Citadels has finally arrived in an English-language edition. Game enthusiasts of all genres will be enchanted by this wonderful game of bluffing, deduction, and city-building. Wrapped in a medieval theme and gorgeously illustrated, players seek to be the first to complete a grand city of their own. These cards feature new locations and new characters to make your game of Citadels even more diverse than the original German version. The game is for 2 to 7 players and it takes 20-60 minutes to play.
